People from all different walks of life have been asking if CBD is the right choice from them. Today, we’d like to help you figure out whether CBD is the right choice for you. If you’re suffering from regular stress and anxiety you’re not alone. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States affecting nearly 40 million adults. This means, that on average, out of every 100 people that you pass on the street, 4 of them are likely to have a severe anxiety disorder. Although most anxiety disorders are highly treatable, it’s estimated that only 36.9% of those suffering receive treatment.
New research was published by a team of scientists from the Massachusetts General Hospital and Temple University stating that the reason why most people suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder don’t seek help, is due to fear. Not the fear of being helped, but the fear of being judged by others. The other main reason’s why people don’t seek help is due to lack of financial resources or simply not knowing where to go for proper care.
Standard public health approaches don’t seem to be working and so people are searching for answers elsewhere. Some people are turning to meditation, some are implementing new exercise and diet regimes, while others are simply reaching for CBD.
CBD is a phytocannabinoid that’s produced by exposing the naturally occurring cannabinoid acid CBDA to heat over an extended period of time. CBD and all other phytocannabinoids and cannabinoids alike are able to have an effect on our bodies due to the presence of our endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system helps the body to maintain a state of homeostasis, which in its simplest form is best understood as a state of balance.
Can CBD reduce stress and anxiety?
According to a study published in the US National Library of Medicine preclinical evidence conclusively demonstrates that CBD has the ability to reduce symptoms associated with multiple disorders. Some of the disorders include PTSD, GAD, PD, OCD, and SAD. In order to see a noticeable reduction in symptoms, it’s recommended to use a CBD product that contains between 300 to 600mg of CBD. It’s also recommended to use CBD consistently in order to see a noticeable difference.
Another study published states that CBD appears to be better tolerated than routine psychiatric medications and that there’s no evidence of safety issues that would limit future studies about it. They also state that CBD is a promising tool for reducing anxiety.
Besides the various studies that have been published about CBD for anxiety, there’s also an overwhelmingly large amount of positive consumer feedback about it. One of our favorite reviews/stories about using CBD for anxiety was left by Rianne F.
“I’ve been suffering from a hormone imbalance for years due to an overactive nervous system (hello, I’m a Virgo and hypersensitive person) & was to the point of considering prescription anxiety medication just to cope with the stress of work, the chaotic world we all are here to shift and to calm my heart palpitations, adrenal fatigue migraines, etc. My very loving and hemp supportive boyfriend suggested I try CBD and through my research, I found Plant People. Within minutes of taking the normal strength tincture, I can feel my nervous system calming. With Plant People’s CBD, I can hold down a job without wondering when I will burn out, stay social and in the world for longer periods of time and take reassurance that my body is capable of feeling calm and at ease. I honestly thought this would be another vitamin that I would have to wait three months to see minor and mysteriously vague results — this is not that! Take it, it will work immediately! You will feel like you but without all the nerves! Bless you Plant People! Bless you! Customer for life. My friends jokingly call me your sales rep because I want others to know the magic medicine!”
Rianne’s story is one among hundreds if not thousands of positive customer reviews that shows CBD can help to reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety.
